How could you have forgotten?

It has been a ridiculously long time since I last posted on this blog. My initial purpose was to be yet another voice out there trying to dispel many of the lies, distortions, and broken policies of the Republicans who were in political power until 2008. Once President Obama took office, I stopped actively blogging. But I always knew in my heart of hearts that I would have to resume once more.

Because I knew that power does not cede easily. The puppet masters of the Republican party are incredibly wealthy individuals. And with wealth comes the ability to control the media, which in turn can be used to control the hearts and minds of far too many ignorant America citizens who have the legal right to vote.

I normally like to hear other peoples' perspectives. I try to keep an open mind and to consider all options. But when I hear many Republicans speak, I am often appalled at the lack of basic truth, the lack of civility, and the lack of deeper reason in what they say. Not that there isn't a point or that they are completely full of nonsense, but rather they obscure any relevant pieces of information in a cloak of mis-truths.

The sad fact is that far too many Americans are unable to think for themselves. They'd rather have biased "news" commentators think for them. Far too many Americans have a short-term memory. They've forgotten just what a morass we were in not that long ago. And they fail to realize that 8+ years of broken policies cannot simply be rectified in a year and a half.

With that, here's a video that I recently came across. If you are among those Americans who have become dissuaded by the current state of affairs, then I really hope you can spare the next two minutes and forty-two seconds:

Comments, Criticisms, Flames, Words of Encouragement, etc., always Welcome!
